Bidet water? [May. 18th, 2008|06:13 am]

[blushingblood]
I've recently started living in Japan, and since I'm super busy here I have no choice but to often empty my cup in public restrooms. Anyone who has been to Japan has probably encountered those fancy Toto toilets that are in a lot of public restrooms. One of the functions is bidet. It would be so handy to use the bidet to rinse my cup in an inconvenient place like a public bathroom...is it recommended? I figure the cleanliness of the water has been approved for coming in contact with sensitive areas anyway...?

♥ Name: Gemma.
♥ Age:  nineteen.
♥ Location: Wellington, New Zealand.
♥ Your cupcake history: Ive been baking for about as long as I can remember. Or attempting to bake at lest. I'm very good at setting fire to things.I brought a pretty book on cupcakes three years ago and I've been an addict ever since. My last batch of cupcakes didn't even get around to being decorated since my flatmates snaffled them all within 10 minutes of getting them out of the oven. I think that means they taste good :D
♥ Why you like cupcakes: I like to decorate them! And they're cute and pretty and I like pretty things. They remind me of being a little girl and having tea-parties and things.
♥ Cupcake photos, recipes, or other interesting cupcake-related tidbits that you found:

Birth Control Question [May. 18th, 2008|12:17 am]

vaginapagina

[mustangracer]
So, Wallgreens just switched my Birth Control to Zenchent 28 from Balziva 28.

They told me that the Balziva was discontinued. Anyone have any news on that?

Has anyone here taken Zenchent?

I have a GYN appointment in a week or two. I plan on bringing this issue up and the fact that I've been on 4 different kinds of pills in 6 months. I was perfectly happy on Yasmin, but since the insurance didn't cover it and the cash price went up to almost $60 a month...I needed something cheaper.

I posted all of the details here a few months back, but I can't find the entry...

Also, has anyone from the US ordered their BC online from Canada? I'm thinking if I can get the doc to get me a Yasmin script and consent to getting it filled there...I could save a LOT of money.
My sucky insurance doesn't even COVER brand name BC scripts. I hate Atena for that.

Silicone-based lube and a random question [May. 18th, 2008|01:03 am]

vaginapagina

[arularia]
Alright, I know that silicone-based lube and silicone toys don't mix and I know that oil-based lubes and latex condoms don't mix. But what about silicon-based lube and latex condoms? Would the silicone degrade the latex?

Edit: And just out of curiousity, what exactly happens when oil-based lube and latex meet? I know it compromises the latex, but does it just make it more prone to breakage or does it turn it into some kind of chemical reaction-based goo?

Wedding [May. 17th, 2008|10:35 pm]

curiouscupcakes

[08261984]
So I just started making cupcakes, I've done the rainbow ones twice (I have pictures that I need to upload) well the first batch I made with my friend. Well she asked me a week ago if I could be her photographer for her wedding, I, of course, said YES! My first gig, I will be doing it for free because, I've never done such a thing before and I need the experience! So today, she asked me to make cupcakes for her wedding, its a spring themed wedding. So I have NO idea what colors to use (I dont want to just do the whole rainbow thing since thats all I know how to do yet) I can get fondant but I'm not sure how to use it. Any ideas? Oh and I have to make deviled eggs on top of that! I will be a busy bee!!! And the wedding is May 31st, I THINK there will be up to 30 people, and the night before we're having a girls night out, so when do you think I should start making all of this? AH I'm a lil overwhelmed, lol

thanks for any ideas and advice!

Okay. So it's okay to wear tampons while you are in a pool or the ocean, right? Like, it won't leak and the water won't make it explode?

What about diva-cup? Pads? Pads probably wouldn't work, I'm guessing.

STDS being associated with sluttiness/dirtyness/etc [May. 17th, 2008|11:22 pm]

vaginapagina

[trinity85]
I don't really have a specific question but there's an issue that has just been on my mind a LOT lately and it's really bothering me and I know some of you can probably relate. For some reason, my mom likes to associate STDs with being promiscuous, being "unclean", and being a druggie, etc. She does not know my number of sex partners but I'm sure she thinks it's like no higher than 3. Anyway, everytime I tell her that I need to make an appointment with the gyno (for anything other than my yearly exam), she's always like reluctant to take me.  She has it in her mind that if I'm not sleeping around (which I'm really not) then nothing should be wrong with my sexual parts. For example, I've been complaining of pelvic pain and nasty discharge, etc. and she's practically ignoring the whole thing.  Even when the campus health folks told me to go to the ER, she was like "no way!" Luckily one of my good friends will be able to take me to the gyno on Monday. I dunno, it just sucks not being able to talk to her about my reproductive health. Does anyone else have parents (or even friends) like this?

Men's Trimmers for Pubic Hair [May. 17th, 2008|08:12 pm]

vaginapagina

[frolicnaked]
So, after some extended wonkiness with my bikini trimmer, mine finally decided to die on me once and for all. My pubic area is approximately 25% trimmed. Joy.

However, a trip to my second-favorite high-end shopping location -- having visited #1 earlier in the day -- revealed a disappointingly narrow selection of trimmers marketed toward women. If I wanted to shave, I could; if I wanted to epilate, I could do that, too -- or spend $80 for its pop-up trimmer. But nothing designed just to trim, and, more importantly, nothing small (narrow) enough for me to use comfortably near my genitals.

I wandered a little further down the aisle and found this. It looked like it would fit my needs nicely -- and I have a pair of Wahl horse clippers that have lasted for ages, so I trusted the brand -- so I went ahead and bought it.

It's charging right now, so I can't test it out on myself, but I can't help noticing two things:
1) The motor on this puppy is way more powerful than my Remington ever was.

2) It's shaped differently: the handle doesn't curve as much as my previous girlparts trimmer, and the blades actually angle in the opposite direction.
Are these differences likely to trip me up any? If you've used a beard/mustache/other facial hair trimmer before, what were your experiences with it? Any tips or tricks?

Thanks. :)

Stacking Limit? [May. 17th, 2008|11:25 pm]

vaginapagina

[011286]
[Current Mood | curious]

I checked the memories out but I couldn't find what I was looking for; unless I completely missed it somehow =(

I've been on Aviane 28 (off-brand of Allesse) for three months now. When I finished my first pack, I thought I'd try stacking my second pack to see how that would go. Being that everything went OK, I decided to start right on my third pack - Stacking my pills for three months and skipping my period for them. During this time, toward the last week of my active pills, I'd get slight "spotting". It'd be nothing but a very light, light brown discharge, and I'd only notice it when I'd go to the bathroom and wipe - It was never enough to get on my panties. Then, yesterday (I started my last pack - of the three months - and am on my last week of active pills) I had only minor (light pink/red) spotting, that was hardly anything and only noticed it once, along with some minor cramping.

So, my question would be this; Is there a limit to how much you can stack pills? I would really like to try stacking another three packs (three months) but I wasn't sure how great of an idea that would be. Or if I should just finish up this week of active pills, then go to my off week. I know that if the spotting were to get any worse, I'd just stop taking my active pills and go on my off week. But, if I were to continue taking my active pills, would that harm anything/hurt me in any way? Also, when I do decide to go on my off week, and stop taking the pills, would my period be more normal? Or would it be heavier since I've skipped it for three months? I was on the patch, for, roughly, five years before going on the pill, and I never stacked my patches before so I'm not really sure if there's anything to expect when I stop stacking, to get my period. Just curious!

Thanks to any help that any one might be able to supply!!

Looking for help in Denver [May. 17th, 2008|09:20 pm]

vintagehair

[akrose]
I checked the memories and didn't find anything, but...

I am looking for someone that can help me. I am looking to get my hair done, rockabilly/vintage style for photos, my boyfriend and I are going to get taken.

He is deploying near the end of this summer, and we want to take photos in his dress uniform with me looking vintage, for the family, and more-so for us before he leaves for 15 months...

The catch... I am broke-as-a-joke and it would be ideal if someone could just help me for free, or a donation or something I would greatly appreciate it, but any help is something, even if I have to pay.

I am in Denver, CO... But I could probably do a little driving if it meant having good hair. Thank you!

Religious facilities? [May. 17th, 2008|06:46 pm]

buddhists

[ocha_no_hanashi]
Photobucket

Buddhists generally devote themselves to the Buddha, Dharma and Sangha. Some even devote themselves to their Guru, too. Sangha does not necessarily have to be a massive congregation complete with a giant golden statue of Buddha. Just a few people and a mud mound vaguely shaped like a meditating Buddha is enough so it has been said.

However, I should like to ask:

How important are religious facilities to you?

By this I mean temples, retreat centers, altar rooms, statues, etc...? Does a physical infrastructure hinder or aid your practice?
